On Thursday, April 24th, 2025, a training workshop on the AQUATOOL Decision Support System (DSS) was held in Cyprus. It was jointly organized by the Technical University of Valencia (UPV) and the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence.
Led by Joaquín Andreu, Rafael Bergillos, the training targeted professionals from the Cyprus Water Development Department along with technicians from the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence, and focused on:
- Integrated management of water resources.
- Simulation scenarios for Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) in the Akrotiri region.
- Practical application of AQUATOOL, a reference tool in water planning in Spain, the Mediterranean, South America and Central America.
The format of the training combined theory, real-world examples, and hands-on practices. Participants had the chance to explore a real case study, putting concepts into practice and testing out the software themselves.
